Job Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive, quality nursing care through application of the nursing process.
Adheres to Nursing Policies and Procedures and Organizational Goals and Objectives.
Provides age-appropriate care for the population served, considering growth & developmental phases.
Demonstrates competency in assessment skills, including admission and shift assessments.
Performs pain assessments and intervenes to optimally meet patient’s needs for comfort.
Plans clinical care based on patient’s needs and available resources.
Performs clinical care in accordance with policy and procedure.
Evaluates outcomes of nursing interventions and takes appropriate actions.
Identifies situations that warrant patient rescue and takes appropriate action.
Adheres to the 5 rights of medication administration and uses the Medication Administration Check (MAK) system.
Integrates principles of infection control & infection prevention into practice.
Performs peritoneal dialysis and medical-surgical RN responsibilities for hemodialysis patients.
Uses effective communication during hand-offs.
Documents patient care accurately using Soarian, MAK, and paper documentation forms.
Develops nursing knowledge via practice, observation, and continuing education.
Serves as a preceptor and mentor for new employees and student nurses.
Maintains equipment in working order and adheres to unit programs to support patient care.

Requirements

Experience: 1+ years experience is required.

Education: Bachelor of Arts or Science in Nursing is required.

License & Certification:

Registered Nurse - PA License
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
