Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Assist in rectifying deficiencies as requested.
  • Assume responsibility for and supervision of the appropriate care of medical equipment.
  • Provide pre-attending care for patients.
  • Perform a comprehensive assessment of each patient utilizing the nursing process.
  • Seek solutions and offer opinions to physicians and other health care providers based on findings.
  • Document all nursing assessments in the patient’s medical record.
  • Independently perform routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, medication administration, measurement of vital signs, preparation of lab specimens.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency in performing complex specialty-related procedures.
  • Interpret and define abnormalities detected in tests and procedures, then take appropriate remedial action.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other clinical and administrative departments.
  • Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills.
  • Manage urgent/emergent medical situations in accordance with the organization’s protocols.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and physicians for daily problem solving and decision-making.
  • Delegate appropriate tasks according to Illinois law and organizational protocols.
  • Make recommendations to management regarding new policies and procedures.
  • Initiate and coordinate patient education.

Requirements

Experience: 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment

Education: Associate’s degree in Nursing

  • State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment
  • Certification in Basic CPR
