Job Responsibilities
- Train, educate, and support combined CT/Heart Failure programs on the proper use of the Impella 5.5 with SmartAssist
- Full customer immersion within 5.5 sites to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Train, educate and provide support in conjunction with the Medical Office and Engineering team for EFS/PMA efforts
- Provide support for the commercialization of the BTR pump and future Surgical and Heart Failure focused technologies
- Device expertise and support on Impella 5.0/LD for adoption of the full portfolio
- Clinical and technical expertise and support of Breethe Oxy-1 for device integration
- Participate in launch, training, and education of combined Surgical/Heart Failure programs
- Internal collaboration with the Commercial Team, Training Team, Engineering Team, Marketing, Professional Education, Clinical, as well as with R&D
- Maintain contact with all customers to evaluate clinical and educational needs
- Perform device training on full Impella Surgical Device lineup
- Provide advanced acumen on the durable, acute, and hemodynamic medical device landscape
- Cultivate close relationships with strategic business partners and key opinion leaders
- Provide input to management on situations affecting clinical results and sales
- Engage with cardiac surgeons, heart failure cardiologists, OR teams, intensivists, perfusionists, and ICU/Step Down Unit teams
- Staff major conferences and Advanced Surgical Courses
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Direct experience in Cardiac Surgery/Perfusion
- Patient management experience in cardiothoracic ICU or CVOR
- Confidence and familiarity with cardiac surgery and OR protocol
- Ability to drive patient outcomes
Preferred Skills
- 5+ years of direct patient management experience
- Previous experience with Abiomed or other cardiac medical devices
- Willingness to travel and cover multiple geographies
Requirements
Experience: 5+ years preferred
Education: Bachelors’ Degree required; Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Surgical Physician’s Assistant (PA), or Perfusionist licensure
License & Certification:
- Valid driver's license issued in the United States
Schedule:
- Up to 50%-75% overnight travel may be required
