Job Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care and treatment to clients/patients according to policies and procedures.
  • Assists the supervisor with day-to-day functions of the Ambulatory Care Unit.
  • Evaluates the nursing needs of patients and develops nursing care plans.
  • Schedules daily nursing assignments and modifies them as needed.
  • Delegates duties to appropriate personnel while working under the direction of the Supervisory Nurse Specialist.
  • Guides three or more employees and provides direction to ancillary departments and other healthcare providers.
  • Communicates the organization's strategic plan and integrates it into the team's strategies and goals.
  • Assists in formulating nursing schedules and coaches the team on problem-solving methods.
  • Leads the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload among employees.
  • Trains team members in team building and administrative training necessary for tasks.
  • Monitors and reports on the status of work, ensuring adherence to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Prepares reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and progress.
  • Represents the team in discussions with the supervisor regarding resources and issues affecting work.
  • Approves emergency leave for medical appointments and resolves informal employee complaints.
  • Accountable for monitoring all aspects of patient care and documenting nursing interventions.
  • Serves as a clinical nurse providing specialized nursing duties to patients.
  • Assesses patient conditions and collaborates with physicians to determine care needs.
  • Participates in developing, updating, and evaluating standards of care and quality improvement monitoring.
  • Coordinates support for patients and families in social, emotional, and physical aspects.
  • Maintains proficiency through continuing education and mandatory training.

Requirements

Experience: Two years of nursing experience working in an ambulatory care setting

Education: Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the state-accrediting agency

License & Certification:

  • Active, current, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse
  • CPR and AED certification
  • Tuberculosis screening or negative chest x-ray
  • Proof of hepatitis B immunity
