Job Responsibilities

Supervise patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations.
Ensure high quality, cost-effective patient and family centered care.
Oversee daily operations of the assigned department, including off shift and weekend supervision.
Manage resources, quality improvement, payroll, and create and maintain colleague schedules.
Monitor patient throughput to facilitate efficient clinical operations.
Maintain a safe and therapeutic unit environment.
Work in the department as staff RN to assist as needed.
Support leadership in ensuring standards of excellence and professional development.
Participate in and lead Performance Improvement work in the assigned department.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Registered Nurse licensure in the State of CT
Supervisory experience
Acute care nursing experience

Preferred Skills

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Master of Science in Nursing
Certification in a specialty area

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience; minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; MSN preferred.

License & Certification:

Registered Nurse licensure in the State of CT
Certified BLS provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
Certification in a specialty area required within 3 years of start date in position
