Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to a defined group of patients adhering to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington nursing standards.
- Coordinate and facilitate health care services for patients in various segments of the health care delivery system.
- Oversee and participate in patient assessment and care plan formulation.
- Provide ongoing assessment of nursing care needs using the nursing process.
- Develop a written plan of care for patient needs.
- Assist patients and families in developing health care goals.
- Determine priorities of patient care based on essential needs and available resources.
- Provide safe and competent nursing interventions.
- Communicate with patients and family about nursing interventions.
- Provide telephone consultation to patients and families.
- Evaluate patient responses to care and modify plans in collaboration with the health care team.
- Demonstrate understanding of aging effects by assessing care needs for various age populations.
- Communicate effectively with the designated age populations served.
- Assess and initiate nursing admission database and discharge planning in collaboration with inpatient staff and physicians.
- Identify and address patients and families' psychosocial, cultural, and emotional needs.
- Develop educational components for each nursing care plan based on assessment of educational needs.
- Encourage patient compliance with therapeutic and medical regimens.
- Integrate health promotion and preventive aspects of care.
- Establish a safe environment and adhere to safety and infection control standards.
- Participate in continued education programs to meet learning needs.
- Participate in professional activities, nursing research, and quality assurance activities.

Requirements
Experience: Nursing experience within the last five years
Education: Associates degree in Nursing from an accredited program
License & Certification:
- Registered Nurse License (Washington) or Compact License required at hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support required at hire
- Basic Life Support required at hire
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support required at hire
