Job Responsibilities

Examine, evaluate, and treat patients with serious medical conditions, illness or injuries on the general pediatrics floor as well as the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patients' medical records.
Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
Collaborate with the on-call physician for the overnight care of the pediatric patient with the physician on call for urgent needs.
Collaborate with the care team on the floor and the PICU to oversee and participate in the care of the general and intensive pediatric patient.
Handle cross cover calls and assist with admissions.
Communicate clearly the plan of care to the patient's family or caregivers as needed about the pediatric patient's condition or treatment plan.
Provide overnight care supporting admissions from the Pediatric Emergency Room, the General Pediatric floor and/or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
Initiate and/or assist in bedside procedures as directed by the physician to facilitate and expedite patient care.

Experience: 2-3 years of Pediatric or PICU experience

Education: Masters or Bachelors Degree from an Accredited PA program and National Board Certification or Licensed as a Nurse and approved to practice as a NP by State of Georgia with National Certification
