Support administrative responsibility for the department service functions.
Work collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager.
Assume administrative scope of the unit in the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager.
Develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance.
Prepare, conduct and/or oversee department(s) orientation and training of personnel.
Communicate with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
Accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift.
Assist the Department Director in the daily operation of the unit.
Direct, supervise, and evaluate personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment, and staff.
Ensure efficient functions of the department.
Perform direct patient care as needed within the scope of practice.
Continuously assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Current and valid state RN License
Current BLS (AHA)
Current ACLS (AHA)
PALS certification within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients
