Job Responsibilities

  • Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal and local laws.
  • Serves as a leader of the health care team; delegates tasks appropriately, and demonstrates appropriate accountability.

  • Monitors patients' progress based on the plan and revises the plan as necessary.
  • Ensures effective development and completion of discharge plan including patient/family education.
  • Charts accurately, ensuring documentation reflects nursing process and interventions.
  • Discusses patient findings and progress toward outcomes with physicians and other health care team members.
  • Demonstrates competencies during the probationary period and participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Adheres to workplace safety principles and practices.
  • Practices customer service standards and actively listens to patients' needs.
  • Participates with the assessment of current and future unit learning needs and development of an annual education plan.
  • Organizes work to minimize overtime and utilizes resources to their maximum potential.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in acute care Pediatrics or successful completion of a KP acute care Pediatric training program or approved equivalent within prior 12 months.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
