Job Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care to a given patient care population based on established procedures and protocols.
- Adheres to infection prevention guidelines and organizational policies.
- Assesses patient history, physiological, and psychosocial status.
- Communicates with patients, families, and medical staff during the continuum of care.
- Complies with Joint Commission’s national patient safety goals and quality standards.
- Participates in activities in alignment with the Magnet Model and organizational activities.
- Serves as a preceptor in an active and engaged manner.
- Provides age-specific individualized care and patient safety centered interventions.
- Educates patients and families throughout the patient's care.
- Utilizes critical thinking to formulate and implement patient care plans.
- Monitors and manipulates the physical environment to promote safety.
- Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among health team members.
- Collects and analyzes patient data to regulate fluid and electrolyte balance.
- Interprets ABGs and intervenes based on results and physicians' orders.
- Assists with intubation and understands relevant pathophysiology.
- Administers medications safely and understands their indications and expected outcomes.
- Interprets diagnostic information and communicates assessment outcomes appropriately.
- Administers vasoactive drugs and manages patient coagulation accurately.
- Sets up diagnostic equipment for procedures and troubleshoots as needed.
- Aids in the recovery of patients post procedure according to policy and procedure.
- Provides procedural explanations pre, intra, and post procedure.

Requirements
Experience: 1 year critical care nursing experience required.
Education: College Diploma in Nursing
