Job Title: Sp Unit Staff RN - Hospital

Position: Leader of the health care team

Job Type: Full Time

Pay:

Shift: 12-hour shift, 7:00 pm – 7:30 am with an 8-hour backup shift 7:00 pm – 3:00 am

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate leadership by serving as a leader of the health care team and delegating tasks appropriately.
  • Understand own and team members' scope of practice, escalating issues as needed.
  • Mentor, orient, and coach others in unit-specific operations and patient care activities.
  • Participate in problem identification and resolution.
  • Develop and contribute to the individualized plan of care reflecting assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Monitor patients' progress and revise care plans based on evaluations.
  • Ensure effective development and completion of discharge plans, addressing barriers and patient/family education needs.
  • Ensure patient safety regarding medications, procedures, and overall care.
  • Document accurately, legibly, and in a timely manner utilizing computer systems effectively.
  • Discuss patient findings and progress with physicians and health care team members.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
  • Adhere to workplace safety principles and maintain a safe environment.
  • Practice customer service standards and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Act as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to new employees and team members.

Preferred Skills

Requirements

Experience: One (1) year recent full-time equivalent experience in Critical Care, or successful completion of a KP Critical Care course or approved equivalent within prior 12 months.

Education:

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
