Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Assist the registered nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating inpatient care for assigned patients.
- Document and report changes in patient condition to the registered nurse.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Proficiency in oral and written grammar and communication.
- Basic mathematics skills.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of mental health care technician practices.
- On-the-job training for patient care activities.
- Basic non-technical skills.
Requirements
Experience: 1 year of Patient Care Technician experience in an acute care setting or completion of a Vo-Tech program.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved Vo-Tech program or RN/LPN program.
License & Certification:
- Nurse Aide certification through the Office of Long Term Care.
- Currently enrolled in an approved RN/LPN program with completed nursing skills checklist.
Schedule:
- Subject to overtime and callback as required by the hospital.
