Job Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect care to patients during pre-hospital and inter-facility transports on board the aircraft.
Assess trauma or medical patients and initiate treatment modalities as per guidelines and medical control direction.
Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care for neonates through geriatric patients.
Assess patient data to identify each patient's requirements relative to age.
Provide and prioritize care based on LIFEFORCE guidelines and procedures.
Work around helicopters in all phases of flight.
Maintain cleanliness and efficiency of the air medical department.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Basic and Advanced Life Support practices
Sound judgment and organizational ability
Written and oral communication skills
Ability to tolerate flight stresses including VFR and IFR conditions

Preferred Skills

Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP)
Instructor certifications in BLS, ACLS, ITLS, PHTLS, PEPP, or PALS

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of continuous experience in an ICU or Emergency Department, with required RN experience for flight paramedics transitioning to Flight Nurse.

Education: Graduate of a School of Nursing accredited by a State Licensing Agency; BSN or MSN preferred.
