Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to improve care provided to women served by the department.
Work collaboratively with department quality team members.
Develop and implement quality improvement assessment processes to meet obstetric, gynecologic, and resident goals.
Work with clinical information technology and health information management to develop and implement databases for collection, measurement, and reporting of identified outcomes.
Assist the Department Value Officer and Medical Directors with communication about quality programs to department faculty and staff.
Participate in various UAB Health Systems healthcare quality improvement and patient safety initiatives and meetings.
Participate in the Alabama Perinatal Quality Committee assisting with database development, data collection, and outcomes reporting for UAB Obstetrics.

Requirements

Experience: Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ experience with database management and quality improvement initiatives may substitute for master’s degree.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health and/or Business administration or Quality.

License & Certification:

Licensed RN in the state of Alabama
Completion of the Healthcare Quality and Safety Certification program or completion of certificate program within one (1) year of employment
