Job Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, implement, evaluate, and revise activities/programs for orientation and competency validation of nurses and interprofessional colleagues.
- Facilitate learning incorporating educational design, technology utilization, simulation, adult learning principles, and evidence-based practice.
- Serve as a mentor and resource/consultant across all units/departments/organization/system as assigned.
- Promote a positive work environment and contribute to a dynamic, team-focused work unit.
- Build interprofessional relationships to collaborate with multiple departments to enhance professional practice and performance.
- Serve as a role model and mentor in evidence-based decision-making.
- Coach staff in knowledge, skills, and attitudes across the continuum of professional development.
- Conduct system/organizational assessments and analyze results to develop strategic plans.
- Be accountable for the development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of education programs.
- Ensure accessibility and availability of education programs to appropriate staff.
- Leads and facilitates project/program initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with departments to integrate educational services promoting patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Identify and implement research, evidence-based practice, and performance improvement projects.
- Ensure program integrity by incorporating evidence-based practices and current educational theory.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop programs within approved budgets.
- Promote inquiry by utilizing research to advance clinical practice and patient care.
- Develop proposals for new programs, projects, or nursing research.

Requirements
Experience: Four years clinical nursing experience and two years in a professional development role.
Education: Bachelor's degree and Master's degree, one from an accredited School of Nursing, Master's degree in education field preferred.
License & Certification:
- RN - Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure -- Compact Licensure
- BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
- Active Magnet - ANCC Recognized Certification (ANCC)
