Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Assist in rectifying deficiencies in the work environment as requested.
  • Assume responsibility for and supervision of the appropriate care of medical equipment.
  • Provide pre-attending care for patients, performing comprehensive assessments of chief complaints and patient needs.
  • Document all nursing assessments in the patient’s medical record ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Perform routine nursing duties, including phlebotomy, medication administration, measurement of vital signs, and preparation of lab specimens.
  • Demonstrate clinical competency in specialty-related procedures such as conscious sedation and chemotherapy administration.
  • Interpret test results and take appropriate remedial actions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other clinical and administrative departments to coordinate appropriate patient care.
  • Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills.
  • Manage urgent and emergent medical situations according to protocols.
  • Serve as a resource for staff and physicians, maintaining alertness to patient care needs.
  • Comply with policies and procedures related to patient care, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Initiate and coordinate patient education, ensuring understanding and ability for return demonstrations.

Requirements

Experience: 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment
