Shift: 12-hour option: 7:00 am-7:30 pm, 8-hour backup: 7:00 am-3:30 pm

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrates performance consistent with the Medical Center Vision, Mission, and Strategic Plan of the organization.
  • Remains flexible to changing systems; demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.
  • Treats co-workers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect.
  • Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  • Serves as a leader of the health care team; delegates tasks appropriately and demonstrates accountability.
  • Understands own and team members' scope of practice and escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Mentors, orients, and coaches others in unit-specific operations and patient care activities.
  • Prioritizes, delegates, and supervises work assignments appropriately.
  • Develops and contributes to individualized care plans, ensuring they meet multidisciplinary planning and patient needs.
  • Monitors patients' progress and revises care plans as necessary.
  • Ensures effective and timely development and completion of discharge plans.
  • Implements patient safety measures related to medications, procedures, and infection prevention.
  • Practices customer service standards and promptly answers patient requests.
  • Maintains and protects patient confidentiality and ensures a clean work environment.
  • Actively listens to patients and family needs, providing an optimal patient care experience.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor to new employees and team members.
  • Participates in departmental performance improvement activities.

Requirements

Experience: 1-year recent (within the last 3 years) full-time equivalent experience in mother/baby care or successful completion of a KP FCC training program.

Education:

License & Certification:

  • Registered Nurse License (California)
  • Basic Life Support from American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program

Schedule:

  • 12-hour option: 7:00 am-7:30 pm
  • 8-hour backup: 7:00 am-3:30 pm
