Job Responsibilities
- Administer nursing care to ill or injured persons.
- Assist in caring for patients by giving direct care.
- Coordinate and deliver quality general and psychiatric nursing care.
- Assume direct responsibility for observation, delegation, and leadership of the unit staff and patients.
- Serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary team.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each patient.
- Ensure all medical orders are followed and initiate treatment planning.
- Act as a patient advocate at all times.
- Assess the patient and plan care within set time-frames.
- Document findings according to policies.
- Oversee and supervise the shift.
- Demonstrate leadership through tasks such as delegating tasks and supervision.
- Monitor patient for change of condition and respond accordingly.
- Follow hospital policy for medication administration.
- Use empathy, dignity, and respect when interacting with patients.
- Deliver quality nursing care to ensure treatment goals are executed.
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients.
