Provide personalized care to help cancer patients overcome healthcare system barriers.
Use the nursing process to provide education and resources for informed decision-making.
Facilitate timely access to quality health and psychosocial care.
Advocate for and represent the needs of patients impacted by cancer.
Encourage navigator participation in best practices and quality improvement in oncology care.
Work collaboratively with patients and their care teams throughout the care continuum.
Identify and address patients' unmet needs and potential barriers to care coordination.
Serve as a patient advocate providing individualized assistance to patients and families.
Provide education and resources for timely access to appropriate levels of care.
Facilitate access to healthcare and community resources for patients.
Demonstrate effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
Assesses patient’s educational and psychosocial needs and barriers to care.
Collaborates with staff to facilitate continuity of care.
Conduct initial and annual competency assessments per job classification.
Maintains performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards.

Experience: 4 years of clinical nursing experience required

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

License & Certification:

Valid RN nursing license in Alabama
Certification in Oncology Nursing preferred or obtained within two years of employment
American Heart Association - BLS
