Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct the care of BMT or Hematology-Oncology patients.
- Collaborate with all disciplines to provide well-coordinated patient care.
- Demonstrate high-level knowledge and competence with respect to hematologic malignancies and administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy agents.
- Manage side effects of treatment and engage the physician as necessary.
- Provide patient and family education relative to the patient's diagnosis and treatment process.
- Act as an ambassador for the bone marrow transplant program when communicating with other healthcare professionals, payers, and the community.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor when needed.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
- BLS – Healthcare provider certification.
- ACLS required within 6 months.
- ONS Chemotherapy Provider card within 1 year of hire (not required for PRN staff).
- One year of acute care experience.
Preferred Skills
- BSN degree.
- Hematology-Oncology or BMT experience.
Requirements
Experience: One year of acute care experience required.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
License & Certification:
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS – Healthcare provider.
- ACLS within 6 months.
- ONS Chemotherapy Provider card within 1 year of hire (not required for PRN staff).
