Job Responsibilities

Administers patient care in an area with patients who have advanced illnesses or injuries.
Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies.
Utilizes information and assessment data to anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
Identifies and prioritizes information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action.
Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients and interprets electronic displays.
Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
Observes, monitors, and assesses patients’ conditions, and calls Physician or takes emergency measures when necessary.
Assesses patients’ needs and develops/revises an individualized plan of care.
Evaluates patients' progress towards expected outcomes.
Respects diversity and builds respectful relationships with team members and customers.
Functions as a patient and family advocate.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.
Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team.
Serves as a role model for staff and supports hospital and nursing department goals.
Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development principles.
Coordinates care and delegates tasks appropriately.
Documents patient care consistently and meeting required standards.
Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and equipment usage.
Prioritizes patient care according to Evidence-Based Practice Standards.
Practices effective problem identification and resolution.
Delegates tasks to healthcare team members according to needs and capabilities.
Communicates information regarding patient conditions to team members.
Demonstrates caring practices and provides a compassionate environment for patients.
Maintains punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies.
Maintains compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Contributes to the knowledge and skills of others.
Participates in departmental and organizational peer review and improvement.
Practices efficient use of supplies and maintains a clean work area.
Attends staff development in-services and meetings.
