Job Responsibilities
- Provide service group educational support to clinical staff.
- Plan for the development of excellence in care with the service group director and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Use educational theory and expertise to foster clinical growth.
- Assess learning needs of staff and assist in developing a personal professional growth plan.
- Plan and operationalize educational activities for staff.
- Measure learning adequacy and remediates as necessary.
- Act as a consultant regarding educational delivery methods, curriculum development, and evaluation strategies.
- Differentiate issues that require educational intervention.
- Assist staff in planning formal educational growth opportunities.
- Prepare learning materials for educational activities.
- Evaluate learning materials for adequacy, accuracy, and evidence base.
- Provide coaching for use of the internet and other modalities for knowledge acquisition.
- Identify patient/family and community learning needs.
- Coordinate learning activities with Employee Learning and Employee Advancement departments.
- Maintain expertise in teaching/learning and clinical competency.
- Make learning experiences enjoyable.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Master's Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License
- 3 years of experience in nursing leadership
- Clinical experience in associated service line area
Preferred Skills
- Emphasis on education with current clinical competence in service group
