Job Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and manage patient flow and safety.
- Mentor unit staff, especially new hires.
- Plan and coordinate quality patient care.
- Provide leadership for unit staffing and patient assignments.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide leadership during crises.
- Promote timely patient discharges and admissions.
- Ensure adherence to protocols and policies for a safe environment.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff during complex patient situations.
- Implement programs to improve patient care processes.
- Orient staff according to Standards of Practice.
- Conduct staff huddles to convey important information.
- Regularly round on patients, physicians, and employees to ensure safety and satisfaction.
- Provide direct patient care when necessary.
- Maintain records related to orientation and competency assessments.
- Adhere to productivity, revenue, and expense goals.
- Assess and evaluate educational programs for staff.
- Foster interdepartmental relationships to achieve common goals.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory agency requirements.
- Communicate necessary information to relevant parties.
- Manage staffing and outcome metrics presentations.
- Utilize clinical data for effective collaboration.
- Conduct interviews, hiring, training, and performance management of employees.
- Adhere to DCH Behavioral Standards.
- Identify and mitigate unsafe practices.
Required Skills

- Registered Nurse with current Alabama RN license

Preferred Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field
- Current AHA BLS Provider training

Requirements
Experience: One (1) year as a Registered Nurse required
Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field preferred
License & Certification:
- Current Alabama RN license
- Current AHA BLS Provider training
Schedule:
- Available to work weekends and holidays
- 12hr and/or 8hr shift patterns
