Provide highly skilled medical care and treatment to patients as assigned by and under the direction of the collaborating physician.
Assist in the diagnoses and therapeutic management of patients under the supervision of a physician.
Organize and present patient data to the supervising physician(s), including recommendations for appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic regimens as determined by patient needs using applicable medical and surgical equipment.
Arrange inpatient admissions and discharges at the direction of the supervising physician.
Perform rounds and record appropriate patient progress notes.
Provide instructions and guidance regarding health care and medical therapy to patients, family members, and significant others.
Order appropriate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies.
Administer injections and dispense medications.
Maintain regular and prompt attendance, and ability to work schedule as defined, including overtime as required.
Perform related duties as required.

Experience:

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing and completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program.

License & Certification:

Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in a related field
Licensure with the state of Alabama as a nurse practitioner and registered nurse
OR completion of an accredited physician assistant training program and licensure with the state of Alabama to practice as a Physician Assistant within two months of employment.
