Job Responsibilities

Provide primary healthcare to both obstetric and gynecologic patients
Conduct pre- and post-treatment surgical care to patients
Perform comprehensive family planning counseling, screening, care and procedures
Elicit and record information about patient’s medical history
Order or execute various tests, analyses and diagnostic images to provide information on patient’s condition
Analyze reports and findings of tests and examination and diagnose condition of patient
Administer or prescribe treatments and determine and prescribe medication, dosage and schedule
Provide prenatal care to pregnant women and postnatal care to mothers and infants
Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to the patient’s age, gender, and disease-specific needs
Review incoming reports in a timely manner and notify patients
Formulate treatment plans for acute and chronic medical conditions, provide preventive health services, and arrange follow-up
Arrange specialty referrals for services not provided by TMPN
Consult with supervising physician regarding diagnostic evaluations or treatment plans
Promote patient satisfaction and foster a welcoming environment
Use and disclose patient’s protected health information per HIPAA standards
Promote a cooperative working relationship with fellow providers
Actively participate in TMPN’s peer-review and quality assurance activities
Participate in provider meetings, staff meetings, and other committee meetings as assigned
Ensure proper and timely documentation of medical health records for clinical work and accurate billing
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Core Skills

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Active and unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
National certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Active and unrestricted DEA license
BLS certification
At least two years of experience in OB-GYN health care setting
Familiarity with electronic health records (Cerner preferred)
Excellent customer service, leadership, and motivational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Requirements

Experience: At least two years of experience in OB-GYN health care setting

Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

License & Certification:

Active and unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license
National certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Active and unrestricted DEA license
BLS certification
