Job Responsibilities

  • Assess the physical and mental condition of patients by performing comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories.
  • Monitor patients across the health care continuum to develop strategies to avoid hospitalization and/or decrease length of stay.
  • Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs.
  • Prescribe, recommend and/or employ medical drug therapies or other forms of related therapeutic treatments.
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive outcomes-based patient treatment plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based medicine.
  • Evaluate the patient’s response to health care provided and the effectiveness of care.
  • Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, health management, medication, nutrition, and health promotion.
  • Maintain appropriate records detailing the patient’s treatment plans and outcomes.
  • Initiate timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds scope of practice and/or expertise.
  • Provide consultation level services for conditions related to the Provider’s specialty.
  • First assist/Second assist in the operating room or procedural setting.
  • Perform follow-ups with patients both pre and post operatively and may also round on patients in the hospital or see patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Perform invasive surgical procedures and/or advanced technological procedures, as indicated.

Requirements

Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience

Education: Graduate of an Accredited Program

License & Certification:

  • Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • RN-First Assist (RNFA)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer
