Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Behavioral Health (BH) Director in planning, supervising, and evaluating the nursing care of psychiatric patients.
- Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information regarding patients and their families.
- Follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and the hospital.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Utilize the nursing process to oversee and provide age-specific patient care.
- Communicate in an acceptable and easily understood manner.
- Develop, implement, and update plans of care.
- Establish and maintain two-way communication with peers, staff, physicians, and administration.
- Adapt to changes in a positive, professional manner.
- Effectively problem solve, provide interventions, and follow through on patient care and clinical issues.
- Cooperate well with peers and support group/administrative decisions.
- Maintain a clear, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Initiate, plan, and provide education and competency assessment regarding patient care and clinical policies.
- Demonstrate population-appropriate competencies for all relevant patient populations.
- Engage actively in patient assessment, intervention, and evaluation as needed.
- Role model professional/leadership behavior and provide direction, instruction, and guidance.
- Assess situations, consider alternatives, and choose appropriate courses of action.
- Complete employee evaluations accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate proficiency at hospital-wide and department-specific computer software.
- Demonstrate fiscal accountability for department resources.
- Communicate and support the hospital's mission, vision, and values to all staff.
- Provide direction to staff and evaluate the care provided by the nursing staff.
- Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Experience: Less than 2 years of clinical supervisor experience required, 0-2 years of clinical management experience in the designated nursing specialty preferred.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; Master's Degree with an MSN preferred.
License & Certification:
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support required
- SAMA Training required
