Job Responsibilities

Help ensure staff readiness daily, weekly, and monthly health and safety inspections.
Work in partnership with KinderCare’s Health and Safety department to provide consultation on health and safety issues.
Educate parents, teachers, and community leaders on safe center practices.
Care for children with chronic health conditions and special needs.
Fulfill the role of Center Health & Safety Coordinator.
Ensure center maintains compliance with licensing regulations regarding the storage and administration of child medications.
Administer authorized child medications.
Respond to regular health issues common in a child care setting.
Monitor and maintain group care health standards.
Communicate with families regarding illness exclusions and monitor guidelines for exclusion duration.
Help assimilate new team members with health and safety training.
Create a culture of safety by ensuring all employees are aware of their responsibilities.
Provide ways for employees to bring safety suggestions or concerns forward.
Be the liaison between Inclusion Services and center staff for children with special needs.
Ensure immunization records are maintained.
Perform tasks on the Safety Calendar for health and safety in the center.
Update and maintain the center's OSHA Binder.

Required Skills

Core Skills

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in a health-related field (preferred)
College Health Nursing Certification (required)
Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama
Strong understanding of child development and learning methodology
Ability to function in a high-change environment

Preferred Skills

Operations experience in early childhood education
Training and Development experience

Requirements

Experience:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Bachelor of Science in a health-related field preferred.

License & Certification:

Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama
College Health Nursing Certification
