Job Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Subacute Units.
Provides twenty-four (24) hour administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for planning, operating, staffing, and coordinating of Subacute Units.
Manages overall operations of the unit with effective supervision of staff.
Ensures delivery of high quality, cost-effective patient care.
Maintains quality patient care through the use of clinical expertise and improved nursing practice.
Facilitates and resolves issues that affect the quality of service provided to patients and physicians.
Supervises staff including hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling, and ensuring timely use of performance management tools.
Plans for the efficient and effective use of staff skill sets and workloads.
Manages operations in accordance with established standards of practice, policy, and regulatory requirements.
Participates in budget development as needed and maintains a budget consistent with the hospital's goals and objectives.
Builds relationships and rounds consistently with management, clinical staff, and other healthcare team members to facilitate appropriate quality outcomes.
Demonstrates strong team-building skills and effectively institutes change supporting unit, level of care, and organizational goals.
Communicates in a positive and timely manner with staff members, employees, physicians, patients, and visitors.
Provides cross coverage leadership in the absence of co-manager (Manager of Skilled Nursing and Transitional Care).

Required Skills

Core Skills

Expert knowledge of professional nursing practice, including current trends and issues.
Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
Ability to supervise staff and clinical leads effectively.

Preferred Skills

Master's Degree
Leadership experience in Subacute, LTAC or ICU.

Requirements

Experience: Two (2) years management experience; Five (5) years Clinical experience in relevant area.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

License & Certification:

California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing

Schedule:

8-hour shift, weekend requirements as needed.
