Job Responsibilities

  • Support, supervise, and evaluate staff new to the clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days.
  • Act within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres.
  • Facilitate a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of health care.
  • Promote excellence in nursing care through implementation of clinical standards of practice.
  • Establish competency standards for staff members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and clinical expertise as a clinical resource.
  • Conduct and facilitate patient care consultations.
  • Provide resources to assess the impact of practices on patient outcomes.
  • Support clinical rounds with the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to establish collegial relationships.

  • CNS certification in area of specialty

Requirements

Experience: 3 years Registered nursing experience in area of specialty; 2 years Clinical leadership responsibility.

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited clinical nurse specialist program

License & Certification:

  • Alaska Registered Nurse License
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Current certification in area of specialty (i.e., CEN, CCRN)
