Job Responsibilities
- Support, supervise, and evaluate staff new to the clinical setting during their first 90 to 180 days.
- Act within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres.
- Facilitate a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of health care.
- Promote excellence in nursing care through implementation of clinical standards of practice.
- Establish competency standards for staff members.
- Demonstrate knowledge and clinical expertise as a clinical resource.
- Conduct and facilitate patient care consultations.
- Provide resources to assess the impact of practices on patient outcomes.
- Support clinical rounds with the multi-disciplinary health care team.
- Work collaboratively with physicians to establish collegial relationships.

- CNS certification in area of specialty
Requirements
Experience: 3 years Registered nursing experience in area of specialty; 2 years Clinical leadership responsibility.
Education: Master's Degree from an accredited clinical nurse specialist program
License & Certification:
- Alaska Registered Nurse License
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- Current certification in area of specialty (i.e., CEN, CCRN)
