Pay: $19.77 - $22.94

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
  • Delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents as per care plan.
  • Assists residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Provides psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents.
  • Assists residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct transfer techniques.
  • Provides range of motion and passive exercises.
  • Completes tasks related to food preparation and creates a positive dining experience for residents.
  • Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures as needed.
  • Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicates resident's condition and care concerns to the charge nurse.
  • Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens and gathers vital signs.
  • Provides housekeeping and laundry services to keep living areas clean.
  • Assists with documentation for wellness and recreational programs and encourages resident participation.
  • May participate in departmental and organization committees as needed.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
  • Ability to follow infection prevention and control policies
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate care

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with food preparation and dining services
  • Communication skills for documenting and relaying resident concerns

Requirements

Experience: Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.

Education: High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.

License & Certification:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing or state certified within four months of hire.
