Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
- Maintains standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry.
- Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department.
- Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
- Capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment.
- Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
- Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate
- Current ACLS certificate
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation
Preferred Skills
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; E.R. setting preferred.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
License & Certification:
- Current RN License
- Current BLS certificate
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
