Job Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care.
Perform clinical assessments.
Administer medications.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Use systematic approach to provide nursing care to patients and families/populations.
Conduct both focused and comprehensive assessments through subjective and evidence-based objective data.
Prioritize, synthesize, and document assessments and nursing plan of care.
Implement plan of care through assignment and monitoring of other nurses and delegation of unlicensed staff.
Initiate standing orders for prescription refills and labs as well as standing delegation orders where appropriate.
Develop and implement teaching plans for patients concerning maintenance, promotion, and restoration of health.
Evaluate patients’ response and outcomes to education and therapeutic interventions.
Communicate effectively with the collaborative team while escalating critical results and issues in a timely manner.
Exercise judgment while coordinating care and referring patients to agencies or healthcare professionals for services/transitions in care.
Perform on-site and telephone triage using best practice guidelines.
May compile daily or monthly reports.
Act as a patient and healthcare advocate by maintaining a safe environment and promoting quality healthcare and services.
Respect and maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
Adhere to standards of practice for professional nursing.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: None

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate’s degree in nursing, or diploma from an accredited nursing school.

Current Registered Nurse Texas License
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
