Provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Set up, test, and operate hemodialysis machines for patient treatments.
Obtain and document necessary pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.
Evaluate vascular access pre-treatment and perform vascular access cannulation.
Evaluate intradialytic problems and provide intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed.
Monitor patients’ responses to dialysis therapy.
Evaluate patient prior to the termination of venous access and discontinue dialysis treatment according to established procedures.
Report any significant information and/or change in patient condition directly to the supervisor.
Enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application in an accurate and timely manner.
Collect, label, appropriately prepare, and store lab samples according to required laboratory specifications.
Clean and disinfect dialysis machine surfaces, chairs, equipment, and surrounding areas between treatments according to facility policy.
Assist other healthcare members in providing patient education.
Prepare, organize, and efficiently use supplies and equipment to prevent waste.

Experience: Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility (preferred but not required)

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required
