Assist in providing patient specific education regarding adequacy measures.
Welcome assigned patients and inquire about their wellbeing since the last treatment.
Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation as permitted.
Obtain pre and post treatment vital signs and weight.
Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders.
Monitor patients’ response to dialysis therapy and perform necessary interventions.
Discontinue dialysis treatment per established procedures and evaluate patients prior to termination of venous access.
Document all relevant information regarding patient treatment accurately.
Conduct machine safety checks and report any unusual findings to the RN or supervisor.
Assist in training direct patient care staff under supervision of a nurse.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment between treatments.
Complete and document ongoing participation in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
Assist in collecting information for infection control audits and education of patients and families.
Follow newly admitted patients through their first 4 weeks of dialysis.
Liaise with FKC staff members to provide optimal patient experience.
Assist with coordination of transition to patient’s chosen modality.

Experience: Previous patient care experience preferred

Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. required
