Job Responsibilities
- Perform various activities in the treatment and care of patients, including routine hygiene care.
- Assist with ingestion of food and fluids.
- Assist with elimination of body wastes.
- Assist with mobilization and dressing/undressing.
- Perform and record routine technical tasks, such as collecting routine specimens and taking vital signs.
- Collect and record intake and output and blood glucose.
- Give suppositories and perform intermittent catheterization.
- Measure bladder volume and hang gastric feedings.
- Escort patients.
- Collect and report pertinent physiological, psychological, and functional data based on patient plan of care or patient need.
- Orient the patient and family to the environment, therapeutic activities, and potential safety hazards.
- Incorporate factors related to safety into delivery of patient care as directed by the registered nurse.
- Implement interventions consistent with the plan of care as directed by a registered nurse.
- Observe patients and report reactions or changes in patient condition to registered nurse.
- Assist in transferring patients and patient care equipment to other specified areas.
- Document functional care, procedures, and other quantitative values in nursing database.
- Assist in monitoring supply needs to ensure adequate inventory at bedside.
- Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of SRAlab.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CNA Certification or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program required.
- Demonstrates competency in applying the principles of growth and development for various patient age groups.
- Effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication.
- Critical thinking skills and sound judgment to monitor and respond to patient needs.
Preferred Skills
- Willingness to adapt to changing work demands and work environment.
- Ability to transfer and position patients, consistent with lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Anticipate, assess, and address the needs of patients and customers.
Requirements
Experience:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
License & Certification:
- CNA Certification or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program.
