Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process and standards of practice.
- Perform all staff nurse activities and function as charge nurse when assigned.
- Maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients.
- Delegate tasks to Technical Nurses, Patient Care Associates, and/or Sitters.
- Perform assignments appropriate to the age and developmental level of patients.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Teamwork and professional communication with healthcare team members.
- Ability to learn and apply computer technologies and procedures affecting patient care delivery.
Preferred Skills
- Professional certification.
Requirements
Experience: Less than one year of related experience.
Education: Associate's Degree; must obtain a BSN within three (3) years of hire.
License & Certification:
- Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida.
- BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- ACLS from the American Heart Association (varies by department).
- PALS from the American Heart Association (for specific departments).
- Crisis Prevention Institute training within ninety (90) days.
