Job Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based treatment to Veterans with acute or chronic mental illness.
- Provide patient and family education on medical and mental health conditions.
- Demonstrate leadership and collaborate with other mental health professionals.
- Assess and adjust the plan of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Counsel and treat patients with substance use disorders.
- Order and interpret labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.
- Initiate referrals and consults to specialty services.

Requirements
Experience: One year of specialized Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) experience preferred.
Education: A post-master's certificate or master's or doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner.
License & Certification:
- Active, current, full, and unrestricted APN license to practice in a State, Territory or Commonwealth.
- Basic board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
