Job Responsibilities

  • Accept responsibility for all department functions in support of the mission, vision, values and facility goals.
  • Make critical thinking decisions within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
  • Ensure patient safety of the Postpartum and Newborn Nursery practice environments.
  • Integrate management of information and effective communication skills in daily practice.
  • Build partnerships with patients and significant others.
  • Support continuity of care and coordination across care settings.
  • Maintain high quality age and development-specific care for infant to adult populations.
  • Create Women’s Health specific initiatives and process improvement.
  • Integrate collaborative practice and working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
  • Manage multiple levels of personnel, payroll, budget, capital, business plan, and physician relationships.
  • Serve as liaison for hospital, community and other institutions.
  • Organize and supervise human and material resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 2 years management experience

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required

License & Certification:

  • Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider card
  • NRP required
