Job Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient needs within an urgent care and primary care setting
  • Appropriately triages patients to differentiate their needs
  • Evaluates patients in a timely manner, prioritizing patient care over clerical duties
  • Performs a thorough history and physical exam on each patient
  • Creates an individualized, evidence-based plan of care
  • Consults the supervising or back-up physician as needed
  • Effectively manages private, occupational medicine, and workers’ compensation patients
  • Follows evidence-based standards for ordering laboratory and diagnostic studies
  • Uses evidence-based resources for treatment options
  • Orders and prescribes appropriate medications based on best practice standards
  • Consults and refers to specialists as required
  • Performs procedures including local anesthesia, digital blocks, wound management, and foreign body removal
  • Manages orthopedic appliances and initial fracture management
  • Complies with current rules and regulations
  • Educates patients regarding the disease process and discharge plan
  • Completes training requirements including CME for specialty
  • Serves as a resource for educating other staff members
  • Treats every patient professionally and compassionately
  • Utilizes the platinum rule when interacting with others
  • Communicates with clinical staff regarding patient condition and plan of care
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Arrives to work on time and adheres to the dress code
  • Treats patients until the clinic closes
  • Efficiently evaluates and treats patients while maintaining high quality and safety
  • Accurately documents patient visits and follow-up care
  • Completes charts within 3 days of shift
