Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs that promote clinical excellence and professional development among nursing staff.
- Collaborate with leadership and bedside nurses to integrate evidence-based practices into patient care.
- Ensure proper orientation, training, and support for new and existing staff in delivering high-quality care.
- Develop and deliver orientation and onboarding programs for new hires in the medical-surgical unit.
- Conduct ongoing competency assessments and continuing education for clinical staff.
- Collaborate with unit leaders to identify learning needs and implement educational strategies.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff in the Med-Surg unit.
- Evaluate outcomes of educational interventions and revise programs accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.
- Participate in hospital-wide education committees and strategic planning initiatives.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Strong clinical expertise in adult med-surg nursing
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with learning management systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to design and evaluate education programs and learning outcomes
Preferred Skills
- Prior teaching, precepting, or education-related experience
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of recent experience in a medical-surgical setting
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related field preferred
License & Certification:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in AZ or Compact
- American Heart Association BLS
