Job Responsibilities

Incorporates knowledge of the nursing process and the professional standards of nursing in daily practice.
Applies knowledge of growth and development to perform detailed assignments/interventions.
Provides consistent care based on the changing physical and psychosocial needs unique to the patient.
Performs diagnostic and patient monitoring, detecting and recognizing acute changes, and escalating concerns/critical results.
Administers and monitors therapeutic interventions and regimens, including starting/maintaining intravenous therapies, administering medication per patients’ rights, preventing falls and skin breakdown, and following safety policies.
Effectively manages rapidly changing situations by identifying, assessing, and anticipating needs.
Exhibits organization and work rule competencies, prioritizing, coordinating, and meeting multiple patient needs in a timely manner.
Contributes to a healing environment, providing patient comfort and support for human dignity, serving as a patient advocate, and building and maintaining a therapeutic environment.
Assesses and evaluates the patient’s readiness and ability to learn, explaining a patient’s condition and their interpretation of their illness.
Ensures the quality of healthcare practices by incorporating Evidence-Based Practice guidelines, using hospital resources effectively, maintaining and troubleshooting patient equipment, and communicating effectively with physicians regarding care needs, status changes, and treatment plans.
Recognizes and performs necessary duties even when not directly assigned.

Proficient in necessary nursing procedures, including medication administration, wound care, ECG interpretation (basic), and patient assessment.
Ability to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and maintaining a safe work environment.
Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.

Experience:

Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Equivalent, Completion of an accredited Nursing Program

License & Certification:

Registered Nurse License
American Heart Association BLS
