Job Responsibilities
- Perform selected nursing procedures, including but not limited to tracheostomy care, colostomy care, enemas, douches, catheterizations, dressing changes, and phlebotomies.
- Provide patient and family teaching according to the plan outlined by the RN.
- Monitor patient's vital signs and make specific measurements and observations.
- Monitor and record intake and output; report significant changes immediately.
- Observe, assess and record patient's physical and mental condition and report any changes.
- Administer medications as instructed by the physician and the RN.
- Document the patient's file accordingly.
- Work with patient, family, and health care team members effectively to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain regular, predictable, consistent attendance and be flexible to meet the needs of the agency.
- Follow all Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA regulations and requirements.
- Abide by all regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
