Job Responsibilities
- Provide consultation and technical assistance primarily to local health departments in multiple counties.
- Promote quality assurance by monitoring and assessing tuberculosis control program activities.
- Offer expertise to community members, healthcare systems, and the general public regarding tuberculosis diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
- Promote, develop, improve, and coordinate tuberculosis programs consistent with the goal of eradicating tuberculosis.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Knowledge of principles, standards, and practices of tuberculosis control
- Clinical management and knowledge of pharmaceutical treatments for tuberculosis
- Experience in contact investigation and relevant State and Federal laws
- Advanced communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing tuberculosis patients
- Knowledge of epidemiologic methods and procedures
- Experience with program planning, evaluation, and quality control methods
- Ability to review and revise tuberculosis-related forms and policies
Requirements
Experience: Two years of clinical experience in the area of specialization.
Education: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.
