Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate direct admissions and hospital transfers to an appropriate HCA Division hospital.
- Coordinate ambulance transfers from HCA Division hospitals to other facilities and post-acute care providers.
- Manage all hospital transfers using an electronic database of service profiles and clinical protocols.
- Consult with on-call physicians regarding patient care issues and advise when appropriate.
- Collaborate with HCA facilities to manage internal and external patient movements and bed assignments.
- Accept all hospital transfers while ensuring compliance with EMTALA.
- Gather appropriate clinical data for accurate placement and transfer facilitation.
- Facilitate inner facility transfers and maintain communication with all parties involved.
- Document and track all hospital transfers and transports.
- Assist in data collection and evaluation of transfer issues for protocol development.
- Exhibit excellent customer relationship skills with physicians, nurses, and vendors.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Proficient in nursing knowledge and EMTALA regulations.
- Strong customer relationship skills and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Skills
- BSN or Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- 2 years of Critical Care nursing experience (ED, ICU, or House Supervisor).
Requirements
Experience: Minimum 5 years acute care RN experience
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program
License & Certification:
- Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas
