Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare surgical patient charts 48 hours in advance of the DOS.
  • Distribute pre-operative care information to surgical patients and their families/guardians 48 hours before the DOS.
  • Greet surgical patients and their families/guardians using AIDET.
  • Complete surgical patient registration systematically.
  • Collect co-payments, reconcile payments, and submit LCDRS and DCRS forms.
  • Request and log MyNemours sign ups.
  • Resolve missing patient information via the AIDHC Admission Work Que (8245).
  • Obtain surgical patient height, weight, temperature, and vital signs.
  • Perform Point-of-Care (POC) testing as applicable.
  • Contact surgical patients and families if they are late by ten minutes.
  • Communicate with the PACU PFS/PACU Charge RN about waiting patients.
  • Guide patients and families through Perioperative Services.
  • Monitor and ensure patient safety, cleanliness, and security of Perioperative Services.
  • Print the surgical schedule 24 hours in advance and compare with patient charts.
  • Maintain clinical supply levels and order necessary supplies.
  • Monitor/replace oxygen tanks and other medical equipment.
  • Register vendors and manage their access into Perioperative Services.
  • Provide ancillary support to the perianesthesia team in the Post-Anesthesia Care area.
  • Assist with post-operative telephone calls and redirect clinical questions.
