Job Responsibilities
- Demonstrates competency with specific clinical skills and techniques listed in the department/unit skills list.
- Under the direction of the RN, provides patient care according to the Nursing Process.
- Performs treatments and procedures in compliance with hospital/nursing policies and procedures.
- Administers medication according to hospital/nursing procedures.
- Assists in admitting patients by orienting them to the hospital routine in a sincere and helpful manner.
- Promptly and courteously responds to any patient call light.
- Organizes and maintains patient rooms and department work areas in a neat, clean, and well-supplied manner.
- Assists the RN in patient teaching.
- Demonstrates correct and safe techniques in the use of patient equipment.
- Recognizes life-threatening situations and emergencies and takes appropriate actions promptly.
- Actively participates in the implementation and monitoring of unit-based Quality Assurance standards of care.
- Performs other related duties as assigned within the framework of licensure.

Requirements
Experience: Entry Level
Education: High School plus completion of Accredited Practical Nursing Program
License & Certification:
- Licensure to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Wisconsin
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification
