Job Title: Inpatient Mental Health RN
Position: Inpatient Mental Health and/or Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP)
Job Type: Full Time

Job Responsibilities
- Provides competent, evidence-based care on the Inpatient Mental Health and/or MHRRTP or as assigned.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on cultural characteristics, age, state of health, race, culture, values, and previous experiences.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to influence patient care.
- Utilizes best practice in assessing and managing Veterans at risk for suicide.
- Adheres to best practice when administering medication per established policies and guidelines.
- Evaluates psychosocial functioning.
- Maintains professional boundaries to protect patient vulnerabilities.
- Participates in MH interdisciplinary treatment team and psychiatric emergencies.
- Reports safety concerns and documents nursing assessments, nursing plan of care, and patient safety observations according to facility policy.
- Facilitates shift reports, warm hand-offs, and nurse-led psychoeducational groups.
- Uses therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques while employing recovery-oriented language.

Requirements
Experience: 2-3 years of recent mental health experience; 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
Education: Graduate of a recognized school of professional nursing with a current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse.
License & Certification:
- 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
