Job Responsibilities
- Provide individualized and specialized nursing care to patients within the endoscopy center in accordance with physicians' orders.
- Plan, execute, and evaluate the nursing care given to patients.
- Establish contact with the patient in each phase of their experience.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- May be required to travel to a sister center.
Required Skills
Core Skills
- Current State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Ability to work under stress
- Good visual acuity
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and discern temperature, texture, size, and shape
Preferred Skills
- Experience in GI endoscopy
- Membership in GI specialty or other local, state, or national professional societies
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- ACLS certification (recommended but optional)
- Completion of Airway Management Module prior to administering IV conscious sedation
- Score of 100% on conscious sedation module post-test
Requirements
Experience: Experience in GI endoscopy preferred
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
License & Certification:
- Current State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Completion of Airway Management Module
