Job Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the management of the team members in the skilled nursing center.
  • Implement and monitor systems ensuring consistent delivery of quality guest/resident services.
  • Implement staffing and scheduling patterns to maintain continuity of guest/resident care and regulatory compliance.
  • Assess and monitor the clinical setting for effective and safe guest/resident centered care.
  • Facilitate effective communication between cross-functional teams and promote a team approach in the delivery of guest/resident care.
  • Maintain communication with guests' residents' physician, family, and/or responsible party to ensure needs are being met.
  • Identify ongoing needs of guests/residents to maintain the highest quality standards for well-being.
  • Ensure proper utilization of the Resident Care Plan by all team members.
  • Ensure proper follow-through and documentation of guest/resident care.
  • Facilitate relationships with Hospice, Therapy, and other providers.
  • Participate in community awareness and relationship development activities.
  • Assist in counseling guests/residents and families during difficult transitional care periods.
  • Strive for excellent quality care and service delivery as measured in the Quality Services Review (QSR) process.
  • Research, document, and review incidents of abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of funds; develop and implement corrective action plans.
  • Ensure Quality Improvement meetings occur and may serve as Chairperson of the meetings.
  • Analyze guest/resident care standards to maintain quality and clinical practice.
  • Review, develop, and implement plans of correction for issues identified by pharmacy consultants.
  • Regularly monitor medication and treatment profiles to ensure compliance.
  • Review physician orders at the time of move in and monthly thereafter.
  • Act as liaison with pharmacy to ensure effective services for residents.
  • Develop knowledge of current and evolving regulations for resident care.
  • Complete and submit all monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist in presenting and valuing Sunrise's products and services.
  • Collaborate in completing the annual community budget.
  • Understand and manage the department budget, including labor and expenses.
  • Recruit, hire, train, coach, and discipline team members.
  • Participate in Sunrise University Training and self-study programs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations through supervision and coaching.
  • Achieve Team Member Engagement goals.
  • Conduct timely performance appraisals and hold team accountable.

Required Skills

Core Skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and techniques.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in federal and state long-term care regulations.
  • Proficiency in Medicare and the Care Plan process.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate assignments appropriately.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Medicare, Minimum Data Set (MDS), and Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications.

Requirements

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a nurse management position within a skilled nursing environment.

Education: Graduate of approved college/school of nursing.

License & Certification:

  • Current state license as a Registered Nurse.

Schedule:

  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours.
